What medications do you prescribe?
We prescribe GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, stimulant medications such as phentermine (Adipex), and oral combination medications that help target cravings, appetite control, and metabolic health. All medications are prescribed based on medical eligibility and individual goals.
Is telehealth available?
Yes! Glow Medical Group sees weight loss patients virtually across all of Ohio. Whether you're in Columbus, Lewis Center, New Albany, Pickerington, or anywhere in the state, medication ships directly to your door and follow-up visits can be done from home.
How is this different from online subscription services?
We provide real medical care with a board-certified NP. Not a subscription box. You get personalized treatment, lab monitoring, nutrition coaching, and ongoing support—not just a monthly shipment of medication.
What's included in my monthly fee?
Your monthly fee includes medical oversight, prescription management, follow-up visits, dose adjustments, and ongoing support. Compounded medications are included for patients using our compounding pharmacy. For patients using insurance, medication costs are not included and are billed through the pharmacy.
Can I use HSA/FSA funds?
In many cases, yes. HSA and FSA funds can often be used for medical visits and prescribed medications. Coverage depends on your specific plan, so we recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm eligibility.
Are there side effects of GLP-1 medications?
The most common side effects include mild nausea, which usually improves as your body adjusts. Some patients may also experience decreased appetite, mild stomach discomfort, or changes in digestion. We start at a low dose and increase gradually to minimize side effects. Your provider monitors you throughout treatment and adjusts your plan as needed.
How long does it take to see results?
Most patients begin noticing changes within the first few weeks, including reduced appetite and early weight loss. Significant results typically develop over 2-3 months with consistent medication use and healthy lifestyle habits. Results vary by individual depending on starting weight, medication type, and adherence to the program.
How are GLP-1 injections administered?
GLP-1 injections are self-administered at home using a small subcutaneous needle, typically once per week. We walk you through the injection process during your consultation and provide detailed instructions. Most patients find the injections quick and easy after the first one.
