Female HRT in Delaware, OH: What Women in Their 30s, 40s, and 50s Should Know
Female HRT in Delaware, OH: What Women in Their 30s, 40s, and 50s Should Know
If you have been feeling "off" and cannot quite explain why, you are not imagining it. Many women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s notice subtle (and not-so-subtle) shifts in energy, mood, sleep, body composition, and cycle, even when standard labs look "normal."
At Glow Medical Group in Delaware, Ohio, female hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is led by Chasidy Crist, NP, our dedicated hormone optimization specialist. Below is a practical guide to what female HRT involves, who it may be a fit for, and what to expect from an evaluation.
Common symptoms women report
Hormone shifts can show up in many ways, and they do not always wait until menopause. Patients often describe a combination of:
- Persistent fatigue or low energy
- Trouble sleeping or staying asleep
- Mood changes, anxiety, or irritability
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Low libido or changes in arousal
- Irregular cycles, heavier or lighter periods
- Hot flashes or night sweats
- Changes in body composition or stubborn weight gain
- Hair, skin, or vaginal dryness changes
Any one of these can have many causes. Several at once, especially in the perimenopause window, often points to hormones being part of the picture.
Perimenopause vs menopause: a quick orientation
Perimenopause is the multi-year transition leading up to menopause. Hormone levels can fluctuate significantly during this window, sometimes year over year, sometimes month over month. Menopause itself is officially defined as twelve consecutive months without a menstrual period.
Women can experience hormone-related symptoms well before menopause is "official." That is normal, and it is a common reason patients come in for an evaluation.
What female HRT may include
Female HRT is individualized. Depending on your evaluation, your plan may include:
- Estrogen support
- Progesterone support
- Testosterone support (yes, women have and need testosterone too)
The goal is to support how you feel and function day to day: energy, sleep, mood, libido, body composition, and overall quality of life, within a plan that fits your medical history.
What an evaluation looks like at Glow Medical Group
A first visit with Chasidy typically includes:
- A detailed review of your symptoms, cycle, sleep, and lifestyle
- Personal and family medical history
- Current medications, supplements, and any prior hormone care
- Lab work to assess relevant hormone and metabolic markers
From there, we discuss whether HRT is appropriate, what options to consider, and how follow-up will work. Visits are currently telehealth across Ohio for added flexibility.
About labs
Lab work is an important part of the evaluation. Labs are cash pay through Quest Diagnostics at discounted Glow Medical Group rates and are paid to the lab at the time of the blood draw. We will explain which labs are recommended and why before anything is ordered.
What pricing looks like
Female HRT at Glow Medical Group is a flat monthly membership of $229/month, which includes all medical visits with Chasidy and most relevant medications, such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone when clinically appropriate. Labs are separate and paid directly to Quest at the time of the draw.
Pricing is transparent and consistent. There are no surprise add-ons.
Who female HRT may be a fit for
Female HRT may be appropriate for women who:
- Are noticing perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms that affect daily life
- Have ruled out (or want to rule out) hormone-related causes
- Want a structured, medically supervised plan rather than guessing with supplements
- Are comfortable with telehealth-based care and lab follow-up
Eligibility is determined during your consultation based on health history and goals.
What HRT is not
HRT is not a quick fix and it is not a substitute for the basics. Sleep, protein-forward nutrition, strength training, stress management, and consistent follow-up matter just as much as the prescription. Exercise is recommended for every patient unless there is a medical contraindication discussed in consultation.
