The Basics

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are FDA-approved injectable gels — mostly made of hyaluronic acid (a substance your body already produces) — that add volume, smooth lines, and gently contour specific areas of the face. Unlike wrinkle relaxers, which relax muscles, fillers physically add shape. They're a favorite treatment for patients who want to enhance their lips, restore volume lost to aging, sharpen their jawline, or brighten under-eye hollows.

At Glow Medical Group we use premium hyaluronic acid fillers from the Juvederm and Restylane families, plus Radiesse (a biostimulator that gives longer-lasting contour). Your provider chooses the right product based on the treatment area and your anatomy.

Treatment Areas

Where We Inject Fillers

Here are the most-requested filler treatments at our Delaware, OH office — with typical amounts so you know what to expect.

Lip Filler

Subtle volume, better shape, definition of the border, or correction of asymmetry. Most patients do ½ to 1 syringe at a time.

Typical: ½–1 syringe · Lasts 6–12 months

Cheek Filler

Restores volume lost to aging, lifts the midface, and creates a subtle, youthful contour. One of the most transformative filler treatments.

Typical: 1–2 syringes per side · Lasts 12–18 months

Jawline & Chin

Sharpens definition, balances chin projection, and softens jowls. Great for both men and women who want a more structured look.

Typical: 2–4 syringes total · Lasts 12–18 months

Under-Eye (Tear Trough)

Softens hollowing that makes you look tired. An advanced placement — important to work with an experienced injector.

Typical: ½–1 syringe · Lasts 9–18 months

Nasolabial & Marionette Lines

Smooths the folds from nose to mouth, and the lines from the corners of the mouth down. Often done in combination with cheek filler.

Typical: 1–2 syringes · Lasts 9–12 months

Radiesse (Biostimulator)

A calcium-hydroxylapatite filler that adds volume and also stimulates your own collagen production for longer-lasting results. Ideal for jawline, cheeks, and hands.

Results last 12+ months · Stimulates collagen

Sarah Jones, FNP-BC

Filler is equal parts medicine and art. Sarah's approach is anatomy-first: she studies your facial balance before she chooses a product or placement. The goal is a refreshed, enhanced version of you — not someone new.

First-time patients almost always start with a conservative amount. You can always add more in 2–4 weeks if you want, but you can't unswell an overfilled face. Sarah would rather see you twice than overdo it once.

Dermal Filler FAQ

What are dermal fillers?
FDA-approved injectable gels, most commonly made of hyaluronic acid (a substance your body already produces), that add volume and smooth lines in specific areas of the face. At Glow Medical Group we use Juvederm, Restylane, and Radiesse.
What areas can be treated?
Lips, cheeks, jawline, chin, under-eye hollows, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and corners of the mouth. Radiesse can also treat the back of the hands. We'll build a plan specific to your face at consult.
How much does lip filler cost in Delaware, OH?
Fillers start at $650/syringe; Radiesse is $700/syringe. Most lips take ½–1 syringe, so first-time lip filler typically runs $325–$650. Vault Beauty Bank members save on every treatment.
How long do dermal fillers last?
HA fillers typically last 6–18 months depending on the product, area, and your metabolism. Lips: 6–12 months. Cheeks and jawline: 12–18 months. Radiesse can last a year or longer.
Will my lips look fake?
Not with us. Sarah uses a conservative, anatomy-first approach focused on balance. Most first-time patients start with ½ syringe or less and build up gradually if they want more.
How much downtime is there?
Treatment takes 30–45 minutes. Minor swelling is normal for 2–5 days (especially lips). Some patients get small bruises that resolve within a week. You can return to work immediately.
Is filler reversible?
Yes — hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed, which is one reason we prefer HA fillers for the lips. Radiesse is not reversible, so we use it only in appropriate areas with thorough planning.
Who performs the injections?
All filler injections at Glow Medical Group are performed by Sarah Jones, FNP-BC — a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with specialized post-graduate training in aesthetic injectables.
